Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy
How long does a bankruptcy take?
For most Chapter 7 bankruptcies, you will have your 341-creditors meeting (most people think of this as their "court") in under 45 days. Most meeting are around the 30-day mark. Then, their discharge is issued 60-days after that once the period for creditors to object expires.
A Chapter 13 bankruptcy takes a little longer. Payment plans last between 36-months to 60-months depending on your income level. You can always pay your bankruptcy "early" to conclude your Chapter 13 Bankruptcy plan.
